Carpets and textile floor coverings are ideal products for a perfect match between creativity and functionality. Therefore, the 5th edition of the WORLD CARPET CONGRESS will focus on different application areas for carpets and rugs, including outdoor/landscaping, transport, office… and will invite keynote speakers from consumer organizations, in order to offer a complete picture of the carpet business.
Organizers told that this list is not exhaustive and only as an indication of possible subjects while the number of presentations is limited to 25. It’s also mentioned that selection will be made by the Congress’ technical committee. Organization committee includes Prof. Dr. Marc Van Parys & Mrs Karina Wageneire from UNITEX, Mrs Petra Wittevrongel & Mr Jo Wynendaele from CENTEXBEL and Mr Mark Vervaeke from FEDUSTRIA.
As a unique opportunity for research institutes, suppliers and contractors to present themselves to an international audience of interested people and organizations, the congress language will be English.
The 5th World Carpet Congress will take place in Ghent University in Belgium on 28th and 29th of May, 2015. Ghent is the real diamond of Flanders and Belgium. In a unique way, Ghent has managed to preserve its medieval power while keeping up with the times. The Ghent University continues to grow in importance. The presence of so many young people and students has turned Ghent into an important Flemish cultural center.
